Today, the corporate office remains a tough workplace environment to organise and harmonize as systems and requirements are evolving…
Overall, the modern workplace faces huge challenges:
All point to the undeniable fact that we need a robust enterprise approach to allow existing systems and adhoc solutions to co-exist and co-evolve.
We need a new enterprise architecture layer that can truly map the enterprise like Digital Twin… that is operational and functional to enable interoperability across all layers and systems for near real-time demand.
Conceptually, we need a One-Stop Enterprise Intelligence (EI) Workplace Systems to strategise and manage the evolving enterprise data and knowledge from the corporate perspective. A three-pronged integrative and practical approach is proposed as follows:
a. Adopt Enterprise Data Models (EDM) to maintain and organise top-level view of the Structured Data, which cut across various systems and adhoc databases and spreadsheets.
b. Re-design the existing forms, templates, methods, procedures, and workflow into Enterprise Knowledge Models (EKM). This is a constant effort and pursuit to structure the unstructured data within and across the departments.
c. Embrace the energing and Ready Enterprise AI (EAI) solutions and extend the enterprise knowledge graph models to further organise the vast untapped Unstructured Data.
We can effectively expand and optimise the structured approach to gel the EDM & EKM to deliver Enterprise Data Intelligence (EDI). A strong and robust EDI shall then bridge and empower the Enterprise AI (EAI) to effectively harness both internal and external knowledge resources.
The modern enterprise intelligence systems shall be a flexible and configurable platform (no-code or less-code) to empower the new breed of business systems architect to manage and blend three critical components into one system of systems:
To realise the Enterprise Intelligence (EI) Workplace Systems, we will need the key stakeholders to evolve and embrace a shared vision… new skillsets and mindsets…
The Enterprise Intelligence (EI) Workplace Systems shall enable
After 50 years of computerisation and digitalisation, we are now entering into a new era of intelligence systems to enable continuing modernization and transformation of modern office workplace systems.
The enterprise AI impact will be long-lasting. We will need to grapple with cost-benefits and changes needed for enterprise AI implementation.
Finally, we all need to reflect and learn from past lessons to bring the world forward.
